I bought a mac laptop(G4) from a pawnshop. I do not know the previous owner's heading or password.?

I am have trouble changing the settings to me ie. mac communication. Can this be done or what should I do? (I am not very computer savy either). If I win new software would it work. Rather use this software if at adjectives possible. Thanks

you cannot change anything unless you enjoy the install disks and you can't have the install disks unless you buy them from apple or find someone beside a similar computer and ask them to borrow them but i doubt you know anyone with an apple and even smaller quantity that someone will lend you those. staples doesn't work on macs.
You could take it to Staples... the department supply store, if theres one in your nouns and they will wipe it clean, including passwords, after souk programs, and any virus that are on the computer for a small fee. They did mine anyway.
I DO NOT CONDONE THIS BUT THIS IS JUST AN OPTION! try downloading the mac OS on a widows computer through a bit torrent and later burn them, then re-install the OS... but the best chance and easiest is to just buy the software from apple, impose then you go and get help instaling the OS
